    Ed Hardy's TattooTime

    TATTOOTIME AGAIN!

Hardy Marks Publications is excited to announce the re-release of all five issues of our historic Tattootime magazine in one boxed set. This year marks the 30th anniversary of our premier publishing effort, New Tribalism, the book that detonated the explosive growth of tattooing in the late twentieth century.

Now all five Tattootimes — New Tribalism (1982), Tattoo Magic (1983), Music & Sea Tattoos (1984), Life & Death Tattoos (1987), and Art From the Heart (1991) are in two beautiful hardbound volumes, enclosed in a sturdy slipcase. All contents are from the first edition of each original—subsequent reprints omitted some material. The combined volumes add up to 352 full color pages, plus original covers, and an added 27-page subject and title index to the entire series.

Tattootime truly changed the world—documents, ideas, and images that have become legendary. Now experience its timeless impact.

    Honolulu Museum T-shirt

    Event:

Don Ed Hardy T-shirt + book signing

    Date:

    July 14, 2012 11:00am-02:00pm

    Location:

    Honolulu Museum of Art Shop

    Event Information:

As part of the exhibition Tattoo Honolulu, the museum has created a limited-edition T-shirt featuring Don Ed Hardy’s design Stay Free. It goes on sale in the museum shop on June 14. It is available in men’s and women’s sizes small to extra large ($35).

Hardy created the original artwork in July 2011 for a special insert with the DVD of the documentary Ed Hardy: Tattoo the World. Stay Free is in the tradition of decades of classic eagle tattoo images created by Ed Hardy. The Japanese-style waves are a signature element of his design style, developed in the late 1960s, which influenced tattoo artists globally. The ribbon is also very classic tattoo, with a sentiment adapted from a 1978 Clash song.

On July 14, Hardy will be at the shop signing books and T-shirts—come by and get one! Once they’re gone—they’re gone forever.

The books he will be signing are from his publishing house Hardy Marks Publications: Bull’s Eyes & Black Eyes: The Art of Michael Malone, Folk Art Tattoo Flash: Rosie, Sailor Jerry Treasure Chest, and Sailor Jerry American Tattoo.
